From the Golden Jubilee brochure, the page honouring Apostle T.O. Obadare.
Born in 1925, the late Apostle Dr. Timothy Oluwole Obadare was a chosen preacher of the Word of God. Many called him a divine microphone of the Lord Jesus Christ and an ambassador of Almighty God. Like Paul, he said that it was a must for him to preach the gospel, and he preached in season and out of season.
A passion for souls. He travelled the world speaking at revival meetings and crusades, and on radio and television at home and abroad, with a visible burden “to reach the world, be instant in season, out of season, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2).
Honours. He received many honorary degrees, including a Doctor of Ministry from St. John’s University, Missouri (1985), and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from the Trinity College of Ministerial Arts, Aba, Imo State, Nigeria (1990). He was also made a member of the International Affairs Leadership Parliament of the Golden State University of Los Angeles, and was recognised by the International Theological Seminary of Desoto and Honolulu University, Hawaii.
Service in the church. He served Christ Apostolic Church worldwide as a choir leader, prophet, pastor, Assistant General Evangelist, General Evangelist and Apostle. By God’s grace he established Christ Apostolic Church in London in 1979 and in the United States in 1981. He was Executive Director and Founder of the World Soul-Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM), a ministry established solely for evangelism, and President of the Interdenominational Ministers’ Association of Nigeria.
Signs and wonders. The brochure records that thousands were saved in his crusades, that the blind received sight, barren women conceived and people were healed of many conditions, and gives glory to God for the life of His servant.
After more than six decades of evangelistic work he lived 88 years and went to be with the Lord in 2013. The brochure closes: “Praise God for such a gift to our generation.”
