One movement.
Every corner of North America.

Christ Apostolic Church North America (CACNA) is the corporate regional family uniting CAC member churches across the United States, Canada, and South America — part of a global movement, born in Nigeria in 1918, to preach the whole Gospel in a clear and undiluted manner.

CACNA isn't a building.
It's a network of churches.

CACNA doesn't hold its own Sunday services — it exists to connect the member churches that do. From a handful of congregations to a regional family spanning three countries, every CACNA zone has its own local church, pastor, and gathering.

What we stand for

Our Mandate

Preach the whole Gospel — in a clear and undiluted manner.

Our Purpose

Build God's ambassadors here on earth.

Our Promise

Everyone who walks through our doors finds a home.

Our Story

The first Christ Apostolic Church in North America started as a house fellowship in 1976, planted by the late Rev. Goke Oyedeji, Ph.D., in Brooklyn, New York.

As Christ Apostolic Church member churches took root across the United States, Canada, and South America, CACNA was formed to unite them under one regional body — organized today into 24 Zones & DCCs (District Church Councils), each led by a Zonal Superintendent.

Part of the Christ Apostolic Church — one of Africa's largest Pentecostal denominations — our mission is raising generations of believers liberated through the light of God's Word and prayer, across North America and beyond.

Core Values

Sound doctrine

Preaching the whole counsel of God, faithfully and without compromise.

Real community

A family that worships, prays and grows together — onsite and online.

Ambassadors

Equipping every believer to carry the Kingdom into everyday life.

One movement, 24 zones & DCCs.

Christ Apostolic Church is a distinctly indigenous Pentecostal church, with roots tracing back to 1918 — a gathering of forefathers including Oba/Pastor Isaac Babalola Akinyele, Pastor David Ogunleye Odubanjo, Joseph Sadare, and Miss Sophia Odunlami. The founders first called their group the Precious Stone or Diamond Society; it later affiliated with Faith Tabernacle, establishing 12 units across Nigeria.

Evangelist (later Apostle) Joseph Ayodele Babalola, called in October 1928, joined the group, and his ministry led to the Great Revival of 1930 at Oke Ooye, Ilesa — a turning point that spread the church across Nigeria. From 1931 the group was affiliated with the British Apostolic Church and took the name “Apostolic Church.” After the two parted in 1939–40, it was known as the “Nigerian Apostolic Church” and then the “United Apostolic Church,” until in 1942 God revealed the name it carries today: Christ Apostolic Church, registered in May 1943.

In the decades since, the Church has planted Bible training colleges — including at Iperu and Ilesa — a theological seminary at Ile-Ife, and grammar schools across Nigeria, and today operates Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) in Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State. Over a little more than six decades, Christ Apostolic Church has grown from a small band of persecuted believers into a denomination with many millions of adherents across the world.

About the Convention.

The CACNA Convention is a large meeting of church members with their families coming together for several days to learn, be uplifted through the word of God ministered, talk about their shared work with other ministers, and to make decisions as a group.

It exists to facilitate, extend and enlarge the Great Commission of Christ under the umbrella of Christ Apostolic Church North America — achieved through the authority of God's inerrant Word, to the glory of God the Father, under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Biblically Based

  • Affirmation of a minimal set of doctrinal beliefs.
  • Biblical inerrancy is the foundational element.
  • Churches working together in mutual accountability.

Kingdom Focused

  • A focus on evangelism and church administration.
  • Networking and fellowship with each other for growth and progress.
  • Resourcing the needs of CACNA churches rather than directing their ministries.
  • Maximizing the ministry effectiveness of CACNA ministers.

One family, many homes.
